Nelson Mandela once said: “A good leader can engage in a debate frankly and thoroughly, knowing that at the end he and the other side must be closer and thus emerge stronger. You don’t have that idea when you are arrogant, superficial and uninformed.”

You, the American people, are electing your next president within a few days’ time. Before casting your votes, you should know who can be your effective president .

You obviously know who can lead your nation and make America great again- not in empty rhetoric but with ideas, words and actions to lead and unite the states as well as its allies and democratic world together.

As a leader of democracy, liberty and human rights, the number one economy and superpower of the world, America needs a strong, dynamic, capable, conscientious and compassionate president, who does not only lead the American people, but also unite and guide democratic leaders of the world.

For this, America needs a transparent, accountable, reliable, honest and visionary president, who can inspire millions and billions of people across the globe through his value-based principles and actions. In Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna says: “whatever actions leader performs, common people follow. Whatever standards leader sets, all the world pursues.” That is what should be the ideal of your president.

Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King inspired humanity by their ideals and values through their exemplary actions and became shining beacons for masses of people across the globe. Leaders should have the ability to set lofty moral examples to inspire people of all walks of life by their words, deeds and character. When such noble leader leads the United States, the whole world gets uplifted and unified in responsibility, morality, selflessness political strength and strengthens democracy. Such President can ensure political as well as economic freedom to the masses.

However, absence of such principled leadership will drag society to the self-centred arrogancy, bunch of sycophancy, moral bankruptcy and lack of transparency and accountability.

You, American people make the decision of what type of president you want to choose, what type of society you want to create and what type of relations with Europe, allies and the world you want to maintain through your presidency.

It is worth mentionable here that an accountable leadership leads by example establishing excellence, being disciplined and setting a standard of integrity in all activities: speeches, actions and reactions. In this context, we must mention here Presidential contender ‘Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, paid nearly $300,000 in federal income tax last year and had an adjusted gross income of about $985,000. ‘ However, multi-millionaire (billionaire?) ‘President Donald Trump paid just $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017’, the New York Times reported. This cannot happen in any country around the world- even in the dictatorial regime where there is no transparency and accountability.

What type of ethical and legal example President has shown to the general public, who are paying taxes in their minimum wages? “ Whatever action is performed by a great man, common men follow in his footsteps, and whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues.” What will people think?

President should be respectable, kind, compassionate, equable in pleasure and in pain, forgiving to unite the people and society. He should be seriously concerned to the needs, aspirations and demands of general public, humanistic, treating all — followers or opponents- fairly and equally, free from hate and anger, hypocrisy and cruelty. He should not be selfish and arrogant. Forgiveness, fortitude, free from hate and vanity should be his quality.

American president completely failed. Failed in black lives matter movement, Corona crisis, climate change, maintaining relations with allies and with Russia and China. Self-centred, selfish, chaotic and destructive leadership has drowned the image of democracy, liberty and credibility outside and the unity of the American people inside the USA.

Griffith University research states: “Toxic leadership is a combination of self-centered attitudes, motivations, and behaviors, operates with an inflated sense of self-worth and from acute self-interest, and consistently use dysfunctional behaviors to deceive, intimidate, coerce, or unfairly punish others to get what they want for themselves.”

You have the time to make or break your great nation. Use your vote sensibly and make America great again.
